A maverick ecologist with a rebel heart, Brigitte has spent decades challenging scientific and social conventions with curiosity, wit and courage. When she's not giving talks and interviews, or exploring remote places in her own country and around the world, Brigitte finds her anchor in a loving home with her wife and two daughters.
Her research in Queer Ecology reveals how nature defies our simplistic categories, demonstrating that what society labels as 'unnatural' often turns out to be nature’s most ingenious solutions. Brigitte’s Planet B embodies this spirit, exploring transformation, identity, and resistance to normative structures. With Brigitte, I have learned that becoming too attached to a fixed identity is probably one of the most evident causes of our suffering as human beings. That stagnant mentality of immovable beliefs only divides and polarizes us, until it alienates and isolates us completely. If Brigitte has taught me anything, it is that within the ability to embrace change lies the possibility of understanding life, tolerating differences, and enjoying the diversity this world has to offer. — Santiago Posada
