The Impact Field Guide is an inspiring example of how collective collaboration can drive change through film. It aligns closely with Alternativa's values, and we are proud to be part of this initiative by bringing this unique collection of knowledge and experience to Russian-speaking audiences across Central Asia and beyond.

Overcoming harmful stereotypes or persuading politicians to pass new legislation may seem like impossible tasks. But this guide helps break ambitious goals down into manageable, concrete steps. It shows how to build an effective strategy, identify the right partners and funding opportunities, and ultimately achieve meaningful, lasting impact.

Before participating in the Alternativa Impact Lab in 2023, I had to piece together information on how to build impact campaigns from a variety of sources. I did this intuitively, trying out different approaches to engaging audiences and unlocking the value of documentaries. The original Impact Field Guide, introduced to me at the Lab, was a revelation as a powerful compilation of structured knowledge. However, I lacked the opportunity to discuss it with other filmmakers from Central Asia and share my thoughts.

Now, thanks to the translation into Russian, many others can use this guide to learn how to build successful impact campaigns.
