Ratchapoom Boonbunchachoke, director, A Useful Ghost
Ratchapoom is a filmmaker of Teo-chew–Hainanese descent, born and raised in Bangkok. He works full-time as a screenwriter for a studio, and also teaches film theory and screenwriting, while working as a film critic. In 2020, he was selected for the Berlinale Talents program. His short film Red Aninsri; Or, Tiptoeing on the Still Trembling Berlin Wall won the Junior Jury Award at the Locarno Film Festival in 2020. A Useful Ghost is his first feature film.

Pablo works at the intersection of sexuality, queer studies, and the politics of memory. His work connects archival research with contemporary debates on haunting, political memory, and the ways societies decide which lives and histories are allowed to linger.
