WHAT’S COMING NEXT: A GUIDE TO COLLABORATING WITH STREAMING PLATFORMS ACROSS THE GLOBAL SOUTH
Industry Days Panel · With MUBI LatAm, Pijama, and Retina Latina
MAMM · 90 min
About the panel
In this session, we will explore what platforms are looking for and what types of content are gaining traction, where they are looking for new audiences and fair innovative ways to cooperate with both talents and viewers. The conversation will offer guidance for producers and distributors across Latin America, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia—highlighting what is worth pitching, how to position impact-driven stories, and what travels across territories.
Looking ahead, we will consider how shifts in the economy, society, and audience behavior are reshaping distribution models, and what this means for the future of socially conscious cinema on streaming platforms. The session will also address key challenges in distributing impact-driven films, strategies to overcome them, and how platforms are engaging new audiences—while exploring evolving forms of collaboration with filmmakers from the Global South.
