Alternativa Film Festival is a nomadic festival celebrating impactful stories from the Global South. Moving to a new region with each edition, the next AFF will take place in Africa in late 2027.
As we prepare for this next edition, we are looking for an experienced Global Line Producer who can turn the Festival concept and the requirements of multiple teams into one clear production plan — and lead its implementation together with the local production team.
The role will oversee the Festival’s overall production planning, bringing together venues, programme, technical, hospitality, audience, industry, marketing, and other operational requirements. Working closely with the Local Line Producer and teams across the Festival, the Global Line Producer will coordinate schedules, budgets, venues, vendors, and major events, ensuring smooth delivery from preparation through to the Festival itself. This is a one-year, remote contract reporting to the Executive Producer, with international travel and on-site presence required during key production periods and the Festival.
What you’ll do
- Building and managing the overall Festival production plan across venues, programme, technical, hospitality, audience, industry, marketing, and other operational areas.
- Developing and maintaining the master operational schedule, including Festival events, setup, rehearsals, venue operations, and strike.
- Coordinating venue and space planning and ensuring operational readiness across all Festival locations.
- Leading production planning for major Festival events and social activities.
- Managing the general production budget, estimates, forecasts, vendors, and production resources.
- Working closely with the Local Line Producer and local production team, setting requirements, timelines, and production standards and monitoring delivery.
- Leading cross-functional production coordination during the Festival, resolving operational issues and ensuring smooth day-to-day delivery.
Who we’re looking for
- Strong experience in line production, festival production, or large-scale event production.
- Experience working across multiple venues and with international teams.
- Confidence managing complex schedules, budgets, vendors, and multiple stakeholders.
- Experience leading and coordinating local production teams
- Ability to make operational decisions independently and work effectively in a fast-moving production environment.
