This is the first time the Alternativa Film Festival is commissioning its key visual through an open call to artists, marking the beginning of a new tradition. With this initiative, we want each edition’s key visual to become a symbol of its place and time, reflecting the cultural context of the host country and city through the artistry and perspective of local artists.
We are looking for a strong, original key visual that reflects Alternativa Film Festival’s mission and vision and at the same time captures the cultural energy and spirit of Colombia and/or Medellín, without relying on stereotypes or exoticism. The selected artwork will serve as the official key visual of the festival and will be adapted across all festival communications. The artist or collective behind the selected work will be commissioned and awarded a prize of USD 1,000 for their work, with full credit and visibility across Alternativa’s platforms.
